Nikki Gibbins

Meet trustee Nikki

I feel hugely privileged to be a trustee of West Sussex Mind and am committed to using all my professional and personal experience to help further the charity's work.

I also work as an independent psychotherapeutic counsellor and hypnotherapist, working with adolescents and adults who seek help to improve their emotional health and wellbeing. I help them come to a better understanding of themselves and find their own solutions to their issues.

My own issues with self-worth and self-esteem in my younger years, and the help and support I received from others to overcome these, led me into the careers I have chosen. My recognition of the importance of this help for me personally is the primary reason I wanted to become a trustee.

I am particularly interested in furthering preventative mental health support, for children, young people and adults, through the development and expansion of services that help them manage their own mental health and wellbeing. People need to be assured that, when they do need to reach out for help from others, the services they need will be available to them in a timely way.
