Hey, I’m Chris, music enthusiast, cow collector, nature lover, Disney fan, proud mum, and nana. I have been living with chronic illness for many years, which affects both my physical and mental health. But through medications, rehab and support from West Sussex Mind, I am now more in control!
Both of my daughters are part of the LGBTQIA+ community and have found a network of peers that provide community and safety. My youngest daughter has been diagnosed with the same illness as me as well as ADHD which does affect her life in various ways, but she has just completed a university degree and started full-time work, so both of my daughters are degree-educated people! I am so proud of their achievements and the role models they have become, and I will always continue to support them and love them unconditionally.
I have an active role within West Sussex Mind as a peer volunteer, chair of a Service User Forum and I am the note taker and deputy chair for this EDI Panel.
Being part of such a unique panel gives me pleasure and pride and I hope to bring all my knowledge and experiences through life to improve the fabulous service that West Sussex Mind brings to those living with mental health illness.
