Hours: Part Time - 30 hours per week (must be able to work Mondays and Fridays)
Salary: £22,947.60 per annum (FTE £28,684.50)

Overview:
West Sussex Mind (WS Mind) aims to raise awareness, increase understanding of and reduce stigma around mental health in communities in West Sussex. To be effective at this the charity understands that it needs to target resources and effort to reach groups and communities where support around this is most needed. Alongside this WS Mind is also striving to reach individuals, groups and communities who may feel excluded and are not currently accessing existing mental health advice, information and support in an effective way.
The worker will:
- Attend groups (run in English) to support the mental and emotional wellbeing of participants and reduce stigma around mental health.
- Provide one-to-one mental health support.
- Work with our training team to set up mental health awareness training to support the development of staff at our partner agencies.
- Support asylum seekers to access mental health services.
- Support with accessing and creating self-help content with translation services where agreed.
- Support West Sussex Mind services to be more responsive to the needs of asylum seekers.
- Support development and wellbeing of staff and volunteers from Sanctuary in Chichester.
- Build connections with partner organisations to understand the needs around asylum seekers’ mental health needs.

- have experience of facilitating groups.
- have volunteer or work experience supporting people with mental health problems.
- have knowledge of the mental health challenges experienced by asylum seekers.
- really care about and want to make a difference around this issue .
